Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Prime Messenger processes, why it is needed, where it may be stored, and the choices available to you.

1. Who we are

Prime Messenger (“Prime,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a communication service owned and operated by Mihran Gevorgyan in Yerevan, Armenia.

This policy applies to the Prime Messenger iPhone and iPad application, this website, and the infrastructure used to provide them. Prime is intended for people aged 13 and older.

2. Data we process

Account and profile

Depending on the sign-in method and profile fields you choose, we process an email address, Sign in with Apple identifier, display name, username, password verifier, avatar, About text, birthday, account mode, language, privacy preferences, and authentication session information.

Device and service information

We process push notification tokens, device identifiers generated for Prime, app version, device or platform details needed for linked sessions, network requests, timestamps, delivery events, call events, abuse-prevention information, and server logs needed to operate and secure the service.

Contacts

If you grant Contacts permission, Prime can help find people you know. Contact matching uses normalized email-derived hashes sent to the service. Prime does not need to upload your contacts’ names for matching. You can revoke Contacts access in iOS Settings.

Location

Location is processed only for features you choose, such as sending a location or enabling People Nearby. For People Nearby, a recent coordinate is sent to our service so we can calculate accounts within the selected radius. Other users receive an approximate distance, not your coordinate or a map of your location. Recent nearby coordinates expire from active discovery after a limited period.

3. Messages, media, and calls

Online conversations

Message content, message metadata, reactions, receipts, group membership, and attachments may be transmitted to and stored on Prime infrastructure when required for delivery, retry, synchronization, conversation history, group operation, channels, moderation, or linked devices. Some content is also stored locally on your device.

Prime currently does not offer or claim end-to-end encryption for online messages. Traffic between the app and our services is protected in transit using TLS.

Nearby conversations

Nearby messaging uses Apple device-to-device technologies. Nearby messages are exchanged directly when a local session is established and are stored locally on participating devices. Bluetooth and local network identifiers are used to discover and maintain these sessions.

Voice and video calls

Online calls use WebRTC. Prime processes call participants, call identifiers, signaling events, timing, and delivery information. Media is encrypted in transit by WebRTC using DTLS-SRTP. When a direct path is unavailable, encrypted media packets may pass through Cloudflare TURN. Prime does not record call audio or video as part of normal call operation.

4. Why we use data

We process data to create and protect accounts; authenticate users; deliver and synchronize messages; operate groups, calls, notifications, nearby discovery, and media; remember settings; prevent spam and abuse; diagnose reliability issues; respond to support; comply with law; and protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

Depending on your location, our legal grounds may include performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Prime, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We do not sell personal data and do not use third-party advertising trackers in the iOS app. We use providers that process data on our behalf to operate specific parts of Prime:

  • Railway — application hosting, API, WebSocket, storage, and related infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare — TURN relay for WebRTC calls and may also provide DNS or website delivery.
  • Resend — delivery of verification and sign-in emails.
  • Apple — App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, APNs notifications, PushKit, CallKit, iCloud or device services you choose, and platform-level diagnostics according to your Apple settings.

We may disclose information when required by law, to address fraud or threats, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a legitimate business reorganization. Providers may process data in countries different from yours.

6. Retention and deletion

Account and profile data is retained while the account exists. Message queues, history, attachments, receipts, group and channel records, and call metadata are retained for as long as needed to deliver the service, preserve requested history, maintain safety, or meet legal requirements. Guest accounts may expire according to the period shown in the app. Nearby-only content generally remains on participating devices until locally deleted.

Use Settings → Delete Account to request permanent account deletion. Prime removes associated active server records and clears local account data on that device, subject to short-lived backups, security records, dispute handling, and legal obligations where applicable. Deletion cannot be undone.

7. Your choices and rights

You can edit profile fields and privacy preferences in Prime; control camera, microphone, contacts, photos, Bluetooth, local network, location, and notifications in iOS Settings; disable People Nearby; block users; sign out; and delete your account.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of eligible personal data. Email Support from the address connected to the account so we can verify the request.

8. Safety, children, and security

Prime is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including TLS, token hashing, Keychain storage on Apple devices, access controls, and operational monitoring. No system is completely secure. Protect your device passcode, password, and one-time codes.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Prime changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes may also be announced in the app or through another appropriate channel.
